Special deals on perfume and cosmetics can be
found at stores like CVS, Target, or Walmart. When you want to get a name brand
product, just think to yourself, do I really need this product or the name
brand? You can get the same essential product for about half the price in one
of these stores, versus going to a high end store and purchasing a cosmetic
product there.
Let's say you wanted to buy a bottle of perfume.
At Nordstroms this could cost anywhere from fifty dollars to two hundred
dollars. Whereas at CVS, Target, or Walmart, the same product could cost you at
the most thirty dollars. Sometimes you won't find the same exact product but
sometimes you will. For instance, I think Nordstroms carries Ralph Lauren
perfume. Target also carries Ralph Lauren perfume and it is probably half of
the price there. So just think, am I going to Nordstroms just to go to
Nordstroms to say that's where I bought my perfume? Or do you want to save big
and go to the less expensive store?
This also goes for cosmetics. If you want
lipstick, mascara, blush, eyeliner, foundation, or eyeshadow, it could be a lot
more cost effective to shop at one of these previously recommended stores.
Cosmetics at stores like Nordstroms, Sephora, Macy's, and Sak's Fifth Avenue
can be extremely expensive. Although they may have high end products, and I am
sure they are great products, you can virtually find the same exact thing at
CVS, Target, or Walmart.
At Nordstroms, a tube of lipstick could cost you
anywhere from forty dollars to one hundred dollars. Whereas at Target, you
could get the same color lipstick for under twenty dollars. If you have the
money, I would say if it would make you happier buying the more expensive
product, then go ahead and do so. But if you are short on cash and don't
exactly want to spend your whole paycheck on makeup, do yourself a favor and
buy all of your cosmetics at CVS, Target, or Walmart.
Sometimes these cheaper stores carry their own
name brands. In other words, CVS will carry CVS makeup prices. It's great
because in the store, you will see the CVS product right next to the name brand
product, and you can see where you are getting the better deal. The CVS product
is almost always a little bit cheaper than the name brand one.
You basically want to shop around a bit before
going out and buying the most expensive item on the market. You could have gone
into Nordstroms and already purchased a tube of lipstick, and then the next day
find out that CVS sold the same thing for fifty dollars cheaper. After making
this mistake, you would probably make more of an effort to shop in CVS for your
makeup. A lot of people just end up buying the name brand because they know
they are getting better quality, which is true, but if you want to save a few
bucks, or don't care about the name brand, you may be doing yourself a huge
favor to look for the good deals at these cheaper stores.
